Bill Garrett

Bill Garrett has been playing and producing music for thirty years. From high school folk and rock bands in the Ottawa Valley during the sixties he went on to work as a backup guitarist to a number of notable folk songwriters in New York and later toured as a singer and guitarist throughout North America and abroad. He has appeared on dozens of recordings as well as releasing his own albums and is currently working on a new album of his own material due for release in 1998. In the late 1970's Garrett started working for CBC Radio as a host and a producer. Over the next several years he produced hundreds of recordings and live broadcasts with a myriad of artists spanning all styles of popular music from jazz to rock to folk and beyond. It was during this period that he started to produce a number of albums as well and eventually it was this love of working with music that led him away from the CBC. Garrett currently owns his own production company with partner Paul Mills (another ex CBC producer and manager) and is active in the production of music for recordings and other media. The following are a few of the artists that Garrett has recorded. J.P. Cormier, Amos Garrett, Johnny Hartman, Nancy White, Glen Hall/ Gil Evans, Steel Rail, Stan Rogers, Sneezy Waters, Graham Townsend, Chris Whiteley & Caitlan Hanford
